Horton in Ribblesdale

 

Horton is on the famous Settle to Carlisle railway line, about 5 miles north of Settle and is in the heart of the Three Peaks. It has it’s own railway station, two pubs, a walkers café, church and a general shop with post office.

 

The Crown Hotel

Seventeenth century pub, with two comfortable oak beamed bars and a restaurant.  Serving Theakston's Old Peculiar, Theakston's XB and Theakston's Bitter.  The bars also feature open fires for those winter evenings and an attractive beer garden for the summer.

 

The Golden Lion

Usually has a range of hand pull beers and a large choice of pub grub. The pub dates back to the sixteenth century.

 

Pen-y-Ghent Café

A walkers meeting point. The Café operates as the local Tourist Information Centre. A good selection of books, maps and guides are stocked along with a selection of outdoor activity clothing.

 

St Oswald’s Church

The church has a mention in The Doomsday book and could date back as far as the 10th century.

 

Settle

Market town with a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants.
