From the south. Horton is just less than 6 miles from
Settle town centre. Travel north from Settle market square. As you leave the
town centre there is a sign directing you to turn right for Horton in
Ribblesdale (B6479). You will pass the villages of Langcliffe and Stainforth on
your way. As you enter Horton you will see a large boulder at the left hand
side of the road, with Horton in Ribblesdale chiselled into it. Carry on into
the village, passed The Golden Lion public house on your left, you will
eventually come to a bridge and The Crown Hotel. Keep on the main road, which takes
you over another bridge. As the road turns to the right you will see the
railway station is straight ahead. You need to turn left onto Cragg Hill Road.
Pass a row of terraced houses and two bungalows then take the entrance to Rowe
End on your left.
From the north. From the Ribblehead Viaduct (where the
B6255 meets the B6479), Horton in Ribblesdale is about 5 miles. Take the B6479
from Ribblehead. You will pass through a small village (Selside) and come to
Horton as you pass under the railway bridge. A little further on the road turns
to the left, you will see the railway station on your right, take the road
straight on which is Cragg Hill Road. Pass a row of terraced houses and two
bungalows then take the entrance to Rowe End on your left.
